The SLX DC is one of the leading reels in the hugely popular SLX series. With a reputation for value and ease of use, the SLX DC benefits from SHIMANO’s i-DC4 Digital Control casting system that automatically maximises casting performance across a wide range of lines, conditions and casting techniques.
The SLX DC is compact, smooth and offers unmatched value. The SHIMANO DC system allows you to cast effortlessly and is now available to a wide audience around the world. The SLX DC retains all of the qualities of the original SLX models and enhances it with SHIMANO’s i-DC4 Digital Control. This brilliant technology can be set in one of 4 modes to maximise your casting performance, whilst at the same time reducing over-runs. Available in two sizes, the 150/151 sizes offer great versatility, whilst the smaller 70/71 size featuring the MGL III spool is perfect for casting lighter weight lures.
Fitted seamlessly into the compact body of the SLX DC is Shimano’s exclusive i-DC4 Digital Control. The modes include Mode 1 designed to achieve maximum distance (least amount of magnetic braking). Mode 2 designed specifically for managing braided line. Mode 3 for fluorocarbon or stiffer lines. Mode 4 offers maximum control (largest amount of magnetic braking) for applications like skipping. Once set, the onboard microcomputer, which is self-powered by generating its own electricity, does all of the work, leaving you to take aim and cast.
Like all SLX models, the aluminium HAGANE Body creates the perfect frame for the precision gearing, and the aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration on the cast and when retrieving. On the smaller 70/71 spool size, MGL III spool is used in order to improve the trajectory and casting distance with smaller lures.
