The new Colt Sniper SS is even lighter and stronger. What is required of a rod designed specifically for shore jigging is a combination of light weight that allows for easy lure operation for long periods of time when encountering a target that may appear at any time, and power that assists in a fight with confidence after hooking a bluefish. The Colt Sniper SS was designed to achieve a high level of compatibility between these two inherently contradictory elements, and the blanks have been made even more powerful than the previous model without compromising on their light weight. In addition, the grip and joints use technology that is also installed in the flagship model. We pursue a usability that is not inferior to that of higher-end models.
Lightness and strength are contradictory things. Our unique technology makes it possible to achieve both.
The secret to achieving both lightness and strength in the blanks lies in Shimano's Spiral X and High Power X technologies. Spiral X is a three-layer structure in which carbon tape is densely wound in opposite directions on the inner and outer layers of the rod's vertical fibers. Instantaneous power transmission is improved in all actions required for fishing, from casting to fighting with fish. It supports comfortable fishing for anglers by demonstrating the rod's inherent high performance. And High Power X is a technology that further tightens the blanks in an X shape with carbon tape. It makes it possible to further suppress twisting during fighting and casting. By using these unique Shimano blank designs, it is possible to achieve both lightness and strength.

Screw Lock Joint
