SHIMANO - OCEA SCREW DRIVE 180F
Mood maker on board.
SCREW DRIVE was sublimated into the plug for SW big game, paying respect to the existing freshwater plugs. After repeated a number of tests with target fish for big game, such as flounder, GT, and tuna, what we sought was an overwhelming appeals of "sound and bubbles" that we had not yet seen. The strong sound that cannot be produced by popper, much less pencil, is transmitted farther and deeper inside, and at the same time, the "bubble" that is created leaves the presence and lure's trajectory, playing the role of a fleeing bait fish. After two years of trial and error in the field, we have achieved satisfactory body strength with through-wire, stable casting distance, stable action, and the rotating performance of the prop fin which is the most powerful weapon. The unique "screw bubble sound" of SCREW DRIVE lures big targets in the ocean to the surface of the water.

A new option for SW big games. |
Are diving pencils and poppers the only top water lures that are effective for SW big games? Can these lures overcome all situations? This self-questioning led to the development of the Screw Drive 180F/180F FLASHBOOST. The aim was to create a third level of appeal that diving pencils and poppers could not. The inspiration for the Screw Drive 180F/180F FLASHBOOST came from a prop bait made to target large freshwater targets such as muskies and pikes. The prop bait, which can attract fish from a wide range with the water flow and sound created by the rotation of the prop, has been thoroughly built up to SW specifications. The Screw Drive 180F/180F FLASHBOOST has been sublimated into a lure dedicated to SW big games. |
It swims reliably even in rough conditions, and the rotation of the prop makes it highly appealing! |
The Screw Drive 180F/180F FLAS HBOOST is a lure whose basic concept is that the prop attached to the rear end of the body grabs the water and rotates to generate bubbles and sound. When simply reeled in, it produces a stable action with a "pocopoco" sound. A short jerk also produces a popping action that produces a "gurgling" sound. Another feature is that the weight is located at the rear end of the body, and the prop is always submerged in water, so it is extremely unlikely to make a mistake even in rough water. Even in sea conditions where poppers and diving pencils roll on the surface, it remains tenaciously on the surface and continues its action. In situations where you are expecting a big fish, but are unable to operate the lure, the Screw Drive 180F/180F FLAS HBOOST will not miss a bite opportunity even in such situations. |

A variety of actions can be produced by using two prop fins, normal and large. |
![]() |
Two types of prop fins are included, normal and large, and can be easily replaced. The normal size is the basic size. The normal size allows for high-speed action. The normal fin is recommended for non-stop jerks with high-speed winding, which is effective for yellowtail amberjack, and long jerks at a fast tempo. The large size allows for an even greater appeal than the normal size. It is effective in situations where you want to appeal to a wide range of fish, such as tuna and GT, by using a popping action while limiting the distance of movement. |
It meets the two major requirements for SW big games - distance and strength - at a high level. |

The Screw Drive 180F/180F FLAS HBOOST has a structure in which the body is divided into two parts, and the part with the prop attached rotates around the wire. It meets both the casting distance and strength, which are essential elements in SW big game, at a high level. When it was first developed, the resistance of the prop caused the lure to stall and wobble when casting. However, by thoroughly testing the body shape and weight balance, it has achieved a casting distance that does not cause stress to anglers. It has the same casting distance as a diving pencil. In addition, the wire is arranged to penetrate the prop part, so it meets the strength aspect. It meets Shimano's unique strength standards for offshore casting. |
COLOR LINE-UP

[001 Sardine] A classic realistic color. A timeless color that uses subtle techniques to capture the sardine, which is targeted by a variety of targets. The yellowish nose is made with a sense of transparency in mind to recreate its glossiness, while the back is based on pearl green and layered with clear blue to recreate a deep green blue. The dot mark on the side switches on the fish eater, and the belly is painted with high-brightness silver to recreate the glossiness that brings out the sardine's true nature. |

[002 OCEA bait] A versatile real color. In situations where baitfish without dot marks such as sardines are the main target, this is the most versatile real color that can transform into various baitfish. The back is first painted black and then colored with polarized pearls that change color depending on the light, creating depth and lustre. The back and shoulders are colored in clear blue with a gradation effect, and the belly is colored with a mixture of white and pink pearls to add a blurred silhouette effect. A new real color named OCEA. |

[003 White Mirror] An update to the existing whites (N White, F White, Boat White). The white back and belly make it highly visible to the angler and blur the silhouette from the fish's perspective, which can easily fool fish in surface games. In addition, when used in standing top water, the expanding white color can be seen from both the back and belly of the lure, resulting in the aforementioned effect. White pearl has been added to the back and pink pearl to the belly to create depth. Clear purple is used from the tip of the nose to the corners of the eyes to create an expression, and the blue eyes tighten up the overall color. |

[004 A Orange] The most visible color. Orange, which is also used for life vests and buoys, has overwhelming visibility on the sea. Being able to see is a big advantage in top water games. When you are maneuvering the lure or when a fish bites, you can respond quickly by being able to see the lure, which often leads directly to a catch. The clear yellow from the face to the shoulders creates a lustrous gradation effect from the orange. The sides use the highly appealing A-type scale boost, making it a color that is highly appealing to both the angler's eyes and the fish. |

[005 Matte Chart] In surface games, blurring the silhouette is one way to get fish to bite, especially in day games. Chartreuse is as visible as orange, but it should not be forgotten that both colors are fluorescent. A orange is also based on fluorescent orange, and the colors commonly called chartreuse are often fluorescent yellow. This fluorescent color absorbs ultraviolet light and emits light, so it absorbs and emits light rather than reflecting it like silver colors that use holograms. Therefore, it is true that it can create a vague outline even in day games, which makes it easier to deceive. It is not just a color that stands out, but one that is good at deceiving fish on the water surface. It is well known that it is effective against various fish eaters, but in offshore casting, it is also effective against tuna such as yellowfin tuna. |

[006 T Chameleon Flying Fish] A color that combines four elements: clear, mirror, scale boost, and UV. The back is black with a shaded green pearl up to the shoulder, and is layered with clear blue to recreate a slight blue hue. The sides use a clear holo, Scale Boost T holo, and the pectoral fins, which are synonymous with flying fish, are reproduced with mirror foil to create a flashing effect in combination with the transparent parts. In addition, the entire color is coated with chroma to promote UV light emission. It is clear, but also flashes, making it a practical and ambitious color. |

Prop fins (2 sizes included: normal and large) Two interchangeable prop fins are included: normal and large. We recommend using the normal size if you are using it at the same speed and tempo as a diving pencil. We recommend using the large size if you want to appeal to fish with a strong jerk like a popper, making big bubbles and sounds, or if you want to create an action with a shorter movement distance. |
