To catch yellowfin tunas, longtooth groupers, and greater amberjacks with overwhelming speed, Shimano is introducing its most powerful electric reel ever - the BEASTMASTER MD 6000. Created with the proposition of achieving overwhelming power and speed, the heart of the powertrain MD = MONSTER DRIVE, is a newly developed motor called the NEW GIGA-MAX with greatly improved performance, achieving 2.5 times (*) the motor torque and 38 kg of practical winding endurance. The drive force is supported by a reinforced gear system that incorporates Shimano's superior durability and attention to detail. Furthermore, the drag force, which is the decisive factor in a fight with a very large fish, achieves an astonishing 43 kg, the strongest in Shimano's history, and reels in huge fish with unparalleled power.
The HAGANE body provides a highly rigid metal body while it is protected from heat generated by the drag section by means of a heat dissipation system, enabling the angler to fight for long periods of time without worrying about the reel. The 80/92mm long handle makes it easy to reel in the fish when fishing near the boat's edge.

NEW GIGA MAX MOTOR The GIGA MAX MOTOR is only available in the BEASTMASTER series. The greatest feature of this motor is that it is a brushless structure motor made of carbon and copper, which are employed as one part that conducts electric current, so there are no parts that wear out and it has a long service life. At the same time, it also has the advantage of being able to deliver strong power even at high temperatures, when performance tends to deteriorate.
BEASTMASTER MD 6000 is equipped with a newly developed new GIGA MAX MOTOR that has been enlarged to achieve great power and speed. Motor torque achieved an astonishing 2.5 times(*) higher.

During long, high-load extreme fights, the temperature of the side plate section rises when the drag is kept slipping for a long period of time. The BEASTMASTER MD 6000 uses aluminum as part of the side plate to improve heat dissipation by 60%* and strengthen the body.

80/92mm long handle
When swimming with a large No. 200 to No. 300 bait, manual winding of the rod by the handle is the standard operation after repeated frequent bottom-taking or after reeling in a large fish near the gunwale by electric power. The 80/92 mm long handle enables powerful manual reeling without compromising this moment. The specifications have been carefully designed for fighting with large fish.
